Comment to the Interim Report

Strengthened position after an eventful first half of the year

The positive development for Jumpgate continued during the second quarter. Net revenue increased by 37 percent compared with the corresponding quarter last year to SEK 15.4 million, mainly driven by Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown and increased revenues in Tivola. Operating profit amounted to SEK -1.3 million (-1.4).

At the same time, the result was affected by certain temporary effects related to Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown, including royalty payments and a one-time minimum guarantee payment. We also invested in the team to complete major updates and new content scheduled for release during the second half of the year.

Importantly for future earnings, the publisher’s investment in the game has now been recouped through sales. This means that gameXcite’s share of future revenues from the game will more than double. Together with lower team costs following the completion of upcoming content, this creates significantly better conditions for the game to contribute positively to earnings going forward.

Building on Star Trek

Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown is an important success for Jumpgate, and we see good opportunities to continue developing the game over the long term. During the quarter, we agreed to develop four additional DLC packages. After the end of the period, the Expansion Pass was launched together with the first premium DLC, Delta Chronicles. The physical version for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X has also been launched at selected retailers across Europe.

We expect the Star Trek game to have the potential to develop into a long-term source of revenue. Upcoming DLC and updates provide us with the opportunity to extend the game’s commercial lifespan and continue engaging the player base.

The success has also strengthened our position in discussions regarding new projects. The Star Trek game demonstrates our ability to develop high-quality games based on strong international IPs within a model where development is primarily externally financed while Jumpgate retains attractive commercial upside.

Stronger project pipeline

We are now seeing a clear increase in business development activity, with more inbound requests and several ongoing discussions regarding promising projects with a structure similar to Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown.

This is well aligned with our strategy of working on multiple fully or largely externally financed projects. The model limits our capital requirements and financial risk while allowing us to retain significant upside when projects are successful.

We have also been awarded approximately SEK 11.9 million in German public development funding for a new game project within gameXcite. The game builds on the technical platform developed for Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown and will be based on a strong IP. More information about the project will be announced at a later stage.

Development of Tivola Games’ new mobile game in collaboration with Trophy Games is progressing well, with launch planned for 2027. The game revolves around the management and breeding of horses. The development budget amounts to approximately SEK 19 million and is financed by Trophy Games and German public development funding.

Our focus during the coming quarters is to convert the most promising business discussions into financed projects and thereby further strengthen our future product portfolio.

Continued deleveraging

In parallel, we continue our efforts to strengthen the balance sheet. During the quarter, we completed a directed share issue of approximately SEK 7.6 million and used the proceeds to repay interest-bearing debt.

This will reduce our interest expenses going forward. At the end of the quarter, cash and cash equivalents amounted to SEK 8.1 million, and cash flow during the quarter was positive at SEK 4.8 million. Further reducing our debt remains a priority.

Focus on profitable growth

We enter the second half of the year from a stronger position. Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown is an important title for the Group, and the conditions for future earnings from the game have improved following the recoupment of the publisher’s investment. At the same time, our project pipeline has strengthened and our debt has been reduced.

Our focus is now to continue developing Star Trek as a long-term source of revenue, deliver on our existing projects and convert the increased business development activity into new externally financed game projects.

Our ambition is to build a focused and sustainably profitable Jumpgate with a portfolio of high-quality projects where financial risk is limited while we retain a significant share of the commercial upside.

The development during the first half of the year gives us confidence in Jumpgate’s prospects going forward
